What a fun morning!

The first of our Daily 5 routines was cut short today because...our dance class was rescheduled to the morning.  It was so much fun!  We learned some new hip hop moves - even Mr. Demman was dancing.

During our read aloud, we learned that Peter has been trying to come up with a plan to reconnect with Pax.  The boy is on his own and has embarked on quite the adventure.  Will they be able to find one another?

After our nutrition break and read aloud, we performed our Readers' Theatre.  Everyone performed so well.  We read with confidence and expression.  We used great gestures to support our poems.  You should all be proud of your yourselves.

During math we carried on with division, reinforcing the concept of halving by using blocks, stories and even dividing the students in the class a resource to demonstrate our understanding.

Following the afternoons nutrition break and read aloud, we moved into Good Guys and Girl Power where we shared our ideas about healthy friendships.  We discussed strategies to maintain healthy friendships and what to do when we notice that things feel different.

We continued to explore our twitter account which included conversation about geography, Terry Fox, and Science Inquiry.  Thank you for all the great ideas on contributions to our discussion.

Question of the day...

What do you think makes a great friendship?

Things to Remember:

1.)  Just a reminder that our class will be performing in the choir for Annie on May 5th. There are two performances that day at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm.  All students are expected to attend. If you have a prior commitment for the evening performance, please email us as soon as possible. Cast members are to be at all six performances.

2.)  Mrs. Bowles has done a check on Mathletics.  We have  a number of students who are not using it at home for extra practice. This is program is paid for by parents and its use will greatly benefit math understanding.  If you need your child's username and password please email
