We started our day off with a little trick or two. Tell your parents about what happened in class.
When we returned to room 80, we took some time to write about the things that we had learned from reading "Nadia's Hands" by Karen English. This book includes beautiful illustrations by Jonathan Weiner that we found to be quite inspiring and connected to our special activity.
After our nutrition break and "Auggie and Me" read aloud, we received a special visit from Mrs. Ellison. During this time we explored the art and designs of Henna and Mendhi. We connected this art activity to our book Nadia's Hands and Mrs. Ellison taught us some of the symbols and designs and what they meant. We experimented in our visual journals and tried to create a sample design on our traced hands. On Tuesday, Kartik's mother has agreed to come in and share her Mendhi experience with us. We are looking forward to having her come in to visit us!

Annie Kids
Parents, our class is participating in the the production of Annie Kids on Thursday May 5th. There is an afternoon show at 1:30pm and an evening performance at 6:30pm. Please note that the tickets are issued in a first come – first served basis. As stated on the order form, there is a wait list for both afternoon and evening tickets if you may require more than your allotted number. All students were given a copy of the lyrics required to practice for the musical. Please encourage your child to take some time to practice at home. We appreciate your support of our music program and are excited to share "Annie Kids" with all of you!
Tell us about your April Fool's Day
Well... Mrs.Zwack/Mrs.Bowles and maybe Mr. Demman tied our shoes together (I am really mad.) Other than that after school a girl said to us: we are missing our dog. And it was a picture of Donald Trump.
