Tuesday, April 12

Tuesday started with a lesson with Mr. Demman.  Using some role play, he acted out a bit of a scenario that we then made inferences based upon our previous knowledge and the evidence we had. We then looked at a few short written samples where we were challenged to put our detective skills to work and find the evidence that supported out thinking.  Fantastic efforts to everyone - a real proud moment for Mr. Demman!

During our Social Inquiry, we were arranged into groups based on the area of interest we had chosen based on Rights and Responsibilities.  In our groups we discussed what we think we know about our chosen topic.  Great discussions.

After Lunch we had music with Mrs. Jones.  We practiced some music theory in our pre-corder books.  We also took time to work on music for our upcoming Annie performance.

After Music, we moved into a math review.  We practiced building multiplication arrays, our circles and stars strategy (groupings) and estimation.

In Science Inquiry, the engineers completed their reflection on building their Mars structure.  This revealed some interesting ideas about what worked well and what we would change.  The scientists had given us a challenge regarding wind power.  We worked tirelessly as a group -  brainstorming a lot of great ideas.

We wrapped up the afternoon with another fun filled session of gymnastics with Mrs. T from Alberta Gymnastics.

What will life be like without internet for a day?  How will we be able to cope tomorrow without having computers... How will that change our day?
