Tuesday April 5, 2016

We started our morning off with a lesson from Mr. Demman about making inferences.  We discussed that an inference is a conclusion that we make based on evidence and reasoning.  Today focused our attention on collecting evindence while watching clips of "Shaun the Sheep".

We continued with our routine of Daily 5 during middle of the morning.  Time was taken to finish working with our new set of "Word Their Way" before moving into our nutrition break.

During our Social Inquiry, we were paid a visit by a special guest - Kartik's mom, ...  She came in to share her knowledge and skills about Mehendi and helped us to apply some interesting designs to our hands.  We had many of our students practicing and helping to get a design on the hand of everyone who wanted one!

We would like to thank Mrs. Emmanuelraj very much for volunteering and sharing with us today!!

Our afternoon schedule was reorganized today.  We started with a math lesson from Mr. Demman where he presented us with a multiplication problem.  All of the students were encouraged to approach the problem using the strategy of their choice.  During Math Daily 3, were practiced our multiplication facts through games like Kaboom!!', Snap Multiplication and Array Capture.

After our afternoon read aloud and nutrition break we joined Mrs. Jones for Music.

We had gymnastics in the gym with Mrs. T from Alberta Gymnastics where were practice some of the positions we had learned yesterday.  She shared with us the importance of safety and how we can be successful when using these positions that a new to some of us.  Great focus everyone!!!

I want to know what the symbols mean. I learned that it take's a lot of practice to do the mehendi designs correctly.
