Good Afternoon Friends,

It seemed that we were taking attendance and then it was time to go home!  Where does the time go?

This afternoon, we started with math.  Mrs. Bowles' group continued their work on increasing patterns.  We looked at how not only can we make increasing patterns with manipulatives but we can create a chart and we can also make future predictions on our chart.

Tomorrow we will share the problems that we did and our strategy for finding the pattern.  We will begin to look at decreasing patterns and compare the two.

With Mr. Demman have been exploring Patterns Around Us.  Today we investigated patterns that are found in music. We listened to music and identified a common rhythm.  We then used that idea to discover rhythmic sounds using Body Percussion & Movement creating patterns of our own. The students had a lot of fun sharing, comparing, increasing, decreasing and layering their mini compositions.

In our science inquiry, we looked at Blog Etiquette.  Mrs. Bowles and Mrs. Quilley have upgraded our KidBlog so the students are good to go with using it to communicate and share their thinking with others.  Check it out tonight and show what you can do.

In gym, we continued using the scooters.  Today we worked on the skill of moving on the scooter and then passing a ball to another member in the class.  We used these skills to play a Scooter Handball game.  It was lots of fun and gave us a pretty good workout.
