Today went way too quickly!!!
All the students had the chance to try out their CBE logins. This will help them with becoming technology savvy. We then continued our work in our Creative Journals on our Brain page and our Edward Tulane. We continue to build our stamina on Read to Self.
We started In math, Friday becomes a problem solving day. Today we looked at the following problem:
Make up an addition question where there is a 2, a 3, and a 4 somewhere in the question or the answer.
students had the opportunity to find as many answers as they could. Our problem solving time is collaborative, this means we can work in the best way the meets our needs: by myself, with a partner, in a small group or in a larger group with the teacher. Since this was our first experience with this type of lesson and thinking we are learning how to try new math experiences, we ran out of time to get all of our ideas written down. We will continue this on Monday.
During our Nutrition Break today we moved away from the two novels that we are currently reading and acknowledged the 14th anniversary of 9/11. We read the book The Survivor Tree by Cheryl Somers. The students had many questions about this day and we looked at how this relates to our thinking of "changes." We talked about how this event changed the world.
Our Friday outdoors adventure was made even better by the beautiful weather. We started our time outside playing Boccee Ball. Then we went on a walk down the path to find our best "sketching" place.

Question of the Day:
We need to get all students to read the blog on a daily basis. Please give us some suggestions of how to help everyone remember and to read and comment on the blog.
you could ask a question in the class and tell the kids to look for the answer on the blog.

Ella says ... If you want parents on the blog tell them that is a good way to learn what your kids are doing at school.
