I apologize for the lack of blog posts over the past couple of days. Life has been very crazy in Room 80. Mrs. Bowles was at a workshop yesterday and hoped that the afternoon went really well. Many of the students shared which of the Gandhi quotes that they liked best and added to their creative journals.
This morning and Monday morning we worked on the grade 3 students doing their digital SLA tests. The grade 4's worked on Daily 5 as they would usually do. It is going well so far and we appreciate how hard all of the students are focusing and working.
We also finished our novel about Edward Tulane! Today we worked in groups to recall the key elements of Edward's journey and how the following changed: his name, his clothing, his location, who he lived with, and his feelings and emotional connections to these people. After our body break we worked on a challenging crossword puzzle that focused on key vocabulary words from the novel.
This afternoon, the grade threes continued their work on Student Learning Assessments. The grade fours and those who had finished worked on Mathletics and other math apps.
We began a new read aloud, one of Mrs. Bowles' ultimate favourite books, Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Please watch the book trailer.

In math, we continued our work on creating and experimenting with numbers. We were given a problem today and we worked very hard at trying to find all of the possible answers.
You can show a number with
12 base ten blocks. What could it be?
98 75
66 57 48
39 12 21
30
Draw the ones in your book
that you can represent.
We were off to gym and Mr. McDougall had some great cooperative games to play with the omnikin balls. We did a number of relays and then we had to work together to move the ball on our heads from one side of the gym to the other.

IF you could write about our day in 140 characters or less (think Twitter). How you explain our day at school today? One character is one space or letter.
