Tuesday, October 27

We had a great day today!  Full moon, lots of art and fun activities and sharing learning with our Peace Village.  Mrs. Zwack is ready for a nap!!

This morning we started out by finishing the painting of our art projects.  They look wonderful and we hope that you enjoy them.  Please see the order envelope that came home along with the art piece and return both with your order.  We appreciate your support of this fundraiser for the school.

We took a short break for snack and reading our new read aloud book Champions.  This book is one that Mrs. Zwack has had for a very long time and it fits in well with all that we are learning about change, emotions, goal setting and perseverance!  Please ask your child to tell you more about it!  Here is a little clue!

At last the time came for our Peace Wing event!  The students each participated in two, self-selected activities that involved art, music and stories!  We saw that the children all had a great time working with new students and teachers and enjoying some positive community building.

Thank you to everyone who was part of our Running Club Wind Up today.  IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

This afternoon we finished our ArtWorks Projects.  They all went home today. This will be a fundraiser for our Parent Council.  Please look over the order form and please return the art and the order form to the school.

In math, we continued to look at sorting numbers and worked on Math by Myself and Math with Someone.

In gym we worked on cooperation skills and had two guest teachers to help us.

At the end of the day we talked about our Halloween Celebration.  Our class won the pizza party for selling the most entertainment books.  So we will use it this Thursday afternoon.  Students have asked if they can also bring a Halloween treat that afternoon and they can if they would like.  We also ask that they bring something to drink to have with their pizza.  Students can dress up in the afternoon but please remember no masks and no weapons.

  1. I really love the book and it is starting to be one of my favourite books. I would recommend the book because it is funny and when you read it you learn a lesson.

  3. Miller says he would recommend it. It teaches you not to be picky about the people you sit with at lunch, cause Augie is having problems with other problems sitting near him, except for Summer who always sits near him.

  4. Yes, I would recommend it for others to read. I liked the book 'Wonder' because it kind of reminds me of my brother some of the time, kind of how he feels alone at recess some of the time. I would recommend it because it has some funny words in it, some really sad parts, like when Ollie says, "You're probably wondering what I look like, but it's probably even worse than what you're thinking." It also has some funny parts in it too.

  7. I think other people should read the book because it is really interesting and teaches people a lesson to never be rude to someone. Even if they look different.
