Mrs. Zwack apologizes for the blog yesterday! She did type it up but something happened to
it and it vanished except for a few words.
We will try again today!
We started our day with music with Mrs. Jones. When we came back to class, we were
introduced to our new Mount Royal University student teacher. Miss. Hadala.
We also welcomed back, Mr. W. We
are so fortunate to have such great supports in our classroom!
We had our helpers working with guided reading groups today,
while other students worked diligently at their Daily 5 tasks. Following snack, read aloud and a quick
movement break in the beautiful sunshine, we headed to Mrs. Peterson’s
classroom to hear about Mr. W’s teaching experiences in Japan. He brought some pictures to share and answered
our questions about a typical day in a Japanese school.
Our afternoon went smoothly and it was great to share all of our ideas and work with Mr. W. Thank you to all you for explaining Math Daily 3 to him and teaching him the games that we work on.
In math, we continued our work on adding many digit numbers (multi-digit). We learned the new game Addition Bingo, where we use a thirty sided die. We also looked at problem solving and what equations we can write when we are only able to use 1,2,3,4,5,6 but not 7,8,9, and 0.
We finished our work on our butterfly migration problem. We used patterns to help us see if our work was correct.

In gym, we started our fitness unit. Mr. McDougall set up a number of stations for us. We used a lot of different equipment. We did get a sweat on.
Things to Remember:
1.) We will be outside of our nature inquiry tomorrow. Please dress for the weather.
Now that we are done Wonder, can you think of a precept? One of your own or one that is a famous saying?
