Welcome to the first day of December - the busiest month of the year.

This afternoon we started off with Music.  Please tell me what was done in music as I just got there at the end to pick you up.

Today with Mr. Demman we used pattern blocks to make connections between our patterns and the concepts of perimeter and area.  I'm certain that I could see young growing right before my eyes. Great ideas today and wonderful effort!

Mrs. Bowles' math group continued to work on the number patterns and making connections to skip counting. We looked at mystery numbers in a skip counting pattern.  For example:

25,____, _____, 40, ____, 50, _____,  Can you figure out what numbers are missing and what the pattern rule is?

In science inquiry, we started thinking about what mission specialists will be needed to plan and help us survive on Mars.  We brainstormed the specialists needed. Tomorrow we will narrow this list down and we will then choose what job will interest us.

In gym, we played four corner floor hockey.  There was a lot of sweaty faces after that work out!

Things to Remember:

1.)  Book Fair viewing tomorrow afternoon
2.) Parent Teacher Interviews Thursday Evening - we are completely booked on Thursday evening so we will have to mindful to keep to our 15 minute time allotment.
3.)  Book Fair will be open during interviews

Write a mystery number pattern similar to the one in Mrs. Bowles' math group writ up.  Answer the student's question above your comment and then write your own mystery number pattern.

The first person to comment will answer this pattern:

  122, ______ , _______,  128, ________,   132
